In an attempt to revitalize this site, (and my photography), and despite all of the events that have happened in the last year, (i.e. stolen gear, loss of educational funding, new child, etc) I am going to begin posting Brooks assignment images regularly again. Here are some of the latest shots from an automotive shoot which I just completed. Pretty basic in it’s scope, my job was to photograph the car from a front 3/4 angle. Please let me know what you think.
This particular vehicle is a KIA Sorento. I have a neighbor who was kind enough to allow me to take it out for an evening to photograph it. I wasn’t aware until we got on location that the front three quarter panel was seriously damaged, thus hindering the overall shot. I photographed it anyway, realizing it was too late to do anything about it. I figured I might be able to do some nifty retouching in post processing, although I was skeptical. Well, as it turns out, I now not only have a finished car shot that looks pretty good, but I also ended up with what I would consider a portfolio retouching piece. Look below for the image with captions, and you can see exactly where the car’s damage is, and compare it with the final image just above it. Thanks for viewing!

Here is the final shot that is retouched, with the original version just below it. Can you tell where I retouched it?

Here is the shot showing the damage to the front three quarter panel. Check out the smiley ball on the antenna!
