Don’t you just love word games? I can’t get enough of them. That is, until I play one for a few hours.

Anyway, today’s game was Scrabble. It started out as yesterdays game, but ended with a terrible upset (for the opposing team) just shy of 1:30 A.M. I love puzzles. Not just the ones that you have to look at the box to figure out, but real puzzles that have a thousand different ways to get to the end. Scrabble, of course, fits that theme. I can play a game of Scrabble, and walk away feeling either sharp as a tack or dumb as a stick. I love the competition of vying for the best spots on the board. Double word score. Triple letter score. Triple word score. WOW! Now, that is fun.

Not only am I challenged by the opponent, but I find myself seeking to impress myself also. If I get 18 points, but I know I was 1 letter away from 25, then I’ll probably be a little dissapointed. Oh, and the bluff. I love putting a word down, not fully sure but absolutely hopeful that the other players will buy it. It’s amazing how smart people will think you are if you act like you know what you’re talking about.
